Foggy Lake and Del Campo Pk from Gothic campsite - Washington State

Foggy Lake and Del Campo Pk from Gothic campsite

Camping spot in Gothic Basin; Del Campo Peak: SOMETIMES, THE BEST IS FREE!!

You can spend a lot of money and stay in a swank downtown hotel, or a tugboat on Lake Union or even a fancy B&B atop Queen Anne Hill, but there are a lot of places in Washington State that will just cost you a little sweat.

This is in the middle Cascades of WA, maybe a little over an hour from Seattle. Of course there is the little matter of your car at the trailhead. You will need a parking permit - daily or seasonal - for it.

Unique Qualities: Great views, mountain goats will visit, swimming lake for your pleasure (not heated, however!), and cusine limited only by your imagination and back.

Address: Gothic Basin

Price Comparison: least expensive

Directions: 4.5 miles south from Barlow Pass, the Weden Creek trail will take you up to Gothic Basin at the base of Del Campo Peak

Theme: Campground

Review Helpfulness: 3.5 out of 5 stars
