I was introduced to the VT community through internet researches on Slovenia. And what a gorgeous little country I discovered. Slovenia has a lot to offer a traveler within its small borders. The VT members living in Slovenia are great resources and act a grand ambassadors to the World-at-large for their country.
The Julian Alps are what initially attracted me to Slovenia and they did not disappoint.
Triglav is the highest peak, but you have a multitude of other peaks to choose from, as well. The range is a limestone range similar to the Dolomites further west in Italy, as well as much of the eastern sections of the Alps. You can spend more than one vacation in these peaks, I have. And so has
Patrick and
Marko and
Frona and
Zoran and, and, and.
Some of my hikes are described in the travelogues below. For another kind of ‘virtual’ experience of the country, check out the
panoramas offered from where you can view what lies ahead of you at many sites and peaks throughout Slovenia. Have fun.
