Visited Lake Tahoe as a wekend trip while I was working in San Jose. During the trip we had fantastic sunny weather which enabled me to appreciate the gorgeous scenery properly. Although it did mean that in Sacramento on the way back it was way too hot (about 106 F) South Lake Tahoe is split into two very different sections divided by the appropriately named Stateline. On the California side were much cheaper motels/hotels and I thought nicer bars. On the Nevada side were the big casinos. Not being a gambler I was able to wander around the gaming rooms and not even be tempted tp spend a quarter there. But definitely great people watching territory. |
