Sonoma Valley runs parallel to the more well known Napa Valley to the North of San Francisco Bay. I think that it is more scenic and friendlier than Napa, and it's wines are just as good. The main reason to visit Sonoma is to see the vineyards, but once there you will be captivated by the beautiful scenery.
