For a great sunday brunch combined with a sightseeing trip take the ferry from across to Sausalito and have a brunch in a restuarant built up over the water with fantastic views across the bay to San Francisco, not to mention having a satisfying meal while doing it.

In general I wasn't too impressed by the restuarants on Pier 39, but you can have a good lunch/snack by buying a chowder with sourdough bread from one of the stalls along the harbourfront. If the weather is on the cold side this is also a good meal for warming yourself up again.

Sonoma township was really lovely & the valley very scenic too, but I equally enjoyed the Napa, but in a different way. San Francisco is my fave U.S. city too, but Chicago & Seattle run a close second. N.Y. is pretty special too! | Jeannette1 Wed May 14, 2003 01:35 UTC
