    • One of the best known sights in the Mountains. Aboriginal legend has ut that three brothers fell in love with three sisters from another tribe, but tribal law forbade a marriage. So the brothers decided to take the women and this caused problems between the tribes, so a witchdoctor turned the sisters into stone so there would be no battle. Unfortunately he was killed before he could turn them back again and so only the rocks remain.

    • You can take a trip to the bottom of the gorge at Katoomba on the scenic railway, which is supposed to have the sharpest incline of any railway in the world.

    • Also at Katoomba you could take a trip in an old cable car which took you across the top of the gorge. here's a picture looking out of the car straight down a waterfall
