Phang Nga Bay: Day trip to Phang Nga

We took a sunset trip out from to Phang Nga Bay. The limestone islands in the bay are spectacular.

In Phang Nga Bay there are still communities of Sea Gypsys living in villages like this. They are built in the lee of the rocks as protection against storms. They are mostly Muslim's in the villages and you can just make out the blue tops on the white towers in the mosque at the back.

The finale of the trip was a visit to the island where some scnes from the James Bond file The Man with the Golden Gun were set. This distinctive rock featured heavily in the shots of the island.

Because of sea erosion there are some caves worn out of the limestome rock.

One thing you must do when in Phuket is to visit the Phi Phi Islands (even better go to stay there for a while). The main islands are Phi Phi Don and Phi Phi Ley. See my separate page for these islands.

Not really too sure about this. Paying money to get assaulted!!! Of course it's not like that, but it was quite vigourous. I had a maasage in at the hotel under a little thatched shelter by the pool. At the time it was pouring with rain so it was a good way to kill some time, and I did feel a bit more relaxed afterwards. But I was told it should be done regularly to get the full effect (or was that just saleswomanship).

I'm glad Starbucks had improved, back in the late 90s, I was disappointed that Starbucks had became one of the hot spot got the hookers, I think there used to be a KFC next to it, also swarmed with biatches... hehe | BerniShand Wed Feb 11, 2004 14:51 UTC
