Old Market Area
  • Tip Rating:

  • As I was staying close to the Old Market area(Psah Chas) that's where I tended to head for at nights. There are quite a few bars and restuarants in this area but because of the lack of tourists at the moment they were all pretty quiet. Among the more popular were the Red Piano, Angkor What and Le Tigre de Papier (a bookstore/bar/cafe). Also I heard the Ivy bar can get quite lively - but not while I was there.

Lots of backpackers use these bars.

    Traditional Cambodian Dancing
  • Tip Rating: [Not enough ratings yet]

  • Many restaurants and hotels in Seam Reap. I can't remember the name of the one I went to, but because of the lack of tourists at the time there were only a dozen or so people there which ruined the atmosphere. However the dancing was really interesting with each one telling a story, you have to watch the hand movements of the girls they are so expressive.
The food was a huge buffet of lots of different styles of food. I had a mixture of Thai, Cambodian and Vietnamese. It was ok but nothing too special.

I have surfed the net and think I have figured out the answer but wanted to confirm what i concluded. Angkor Wat is a seperate site from Angkor Thom correct? Angkor Thom is a walled city and Angkor Wat is a temple with a wall and moat. Thanks, T Edwards
