I have a Rockmart address, but live in unincorporated Polk County, GA, in Fish Creek Community. It's rural out here and I'm loving it.

Note: NO LIQUOR SALES ON SUNDAY. If you want to imbibe, stock up beforehand. All tea is sweetened unless you ask otherwise, and they chill red wine.

Best place I've eaten is Zorba's, an Italian restaurant at 805 N. Main Street in Cedartown.

The renter's insurance on my apartment excluded flooding and "movements of the earth," which I'll admit gave me pause, having grown up in California.

During the summer, watch for sky divers over Rockmart. Very colorful parachutes, and they're very good.

THERE ARE NO LEASH LAWS outside the city limits, and quite a few feral strays. Beware of Dogs.

Rockmart is home to a trailhead of the Silver Comet Trail, part of the Rails to Trails project. Silver Comet runs over 30 miles from Rockmart to Smyrna, GA, with no more than a 2% grade. It's the only place I'd really walk or ride a bike--the unincorporated areas of the county don't have sidewalks or very wide roads.
