October 12, 2007 My 38th Birthday

Seeing as how I've been very absent on VT and in keeping in touch with friens via email, let me say I'm so happy to read all the great comments and well wishes from my friends. Life with 3 young children and my wife has kept me more than busy, but always with a smile on my face. This year has flown by, but a week long work trip to New Orleans was a great way to bring it to a close and open the next year's log.

Little Annie is almost 2 now and she is a character with the most loving and playful personality. So tiny, yet full of joy and laughter...a real delight for my wife and I.

All my love to you and thanks again for the kind thoughts and words.

XO, Vince

May 26, 2007 First Trip to Japan

I know I've been absent, but it just couldn't be helped with the action the Spring brings about, my incredible work load, and family time. At the moment I'm in Japan on business in both Tokyo and Osaka. Not sure if I'll have much time for sightseeing, but I'm sure some entertainment will be worked in to the business events.

I'll catch up with you when I return.

All the best,
Vince

Feb 17, 2007 What's up with Valentine's Day?

Hmm..from what I've been hearing from you, this Valentine's Day wasn't such a hit. Not sure why that is, but it isn't right. For those of you I have other email addresses for, I hope you enjoy my attempt to share some Valentine's cheer.

If someone out there didn't receive my gift and is needing a Valentine's boost, send me a message. Perhaps we can remedy the omission.

Cheers,
Vince

Feb 13, 2007 Happy Valentine's Day

Burr....it's cold, snowy & icy outside, but hopefully a mix of flowers and jewelry for Valentine's Day will keep things warm..or possibly hot inside. ;-) I brought work home in anticipation of the lousy weather and it was a good thing. No commute today and I got to enjoy a late start plus lunch with the family. What a perk.

If your received a FOUR THINGS email from my yahoo account, you can thank VTer HighlandLaura for the fun. So far 3 of my 4 predicted respondents came through for me. Thanks Lynsey, Jelena & Paula. If you're interested in the FOUR THINGS email and didn't hear from me, let me know and I'll gladly send it along. Unlike my previous "tell me about you" questionnaires, this is very short. :-)

This past weekend we celebrated little Annie's first birthday. Seems like everyone but Annie had a great time. She came down with a cold and hasn't been feeling well for a few days. Still, she finds good moments to enjoy her new toys.

My wife and I are now in agreement that the vasectomy was a good decision. Let's just say that the benefits are very tangible and we now have the freedom to just "act on impulse" without fear of consequences. That is quite liberating.

Best wishes go out to you all. Hope your Valentine's Day is remarkable, whether there is already someone special in your life or if you are looking for the right somebody. Remember to tell those close to you that you love them.

XOXO
Lots of love,
Vince

MY 360 REVIEW

So what is my 360 review?

I've asked my friends to send me one word to describe me ... just one single word.

While it sounds easy, it's really not. If you know someone, then it's hard to find the "right" word to tag them with. I know, I've responded to those friends who have asked me to do the same for them. A myriad of images and adjectives come to mind, so choosing just one is tough.

How do people describe me?

> Exceptional
> Enticing
> Creative
> Naughty
> Extraordinary
> Minxy
> Naked

I'm quite flattered by those adjectives and will post more when I receive them.

If you know me and want to email me your word, I will be happy to add it to the list. It is interesting to hear how others see you.

Thanks for being a part of my 360 Review!.

ON THE PERSONAL SIDE

Upon joining VT, I was single and not dating anyone seriously. Then, in 2002 I met a lady my own age with a young son and a newborn daughter who had lost her husband in a car accident. It all started when I volunteered to help her with some home repair projects. Next, we began to talk and become friends. Eventually that friendship grew into something much more and we moved in together. After about two and a half years of dating, she agreed to be my wife and we married in April 2005. Currently, we are expecting a child together that is due in February 2006.

We live in Indiana near the borders of Kentucky and Ohio. I've spent most of my life in this region and it allows us to be close to a number of our relatives. Since family is very important to both of us, I don't see us moving away. It offers the convenience of being near cities like Cincinnati and Indianapolis while having the tranquility of smaller towns and communities.

As many know, I've had a fascination with numbers and statistics. It all goes back to my chosen career - mechanical engineering. I've worked in about six companies since the early 1990s and am currently employed with a firm that supports the medical industry. This position became available in early 2005 and I am currently learning about the company and the industry. Other than requiring a lot more hours than my previous position, the fit seems great.

If you want to see photos of my family and I on these pages, I'm afraid you're going to be disappointed. Because of my wild, over-exposed early years on VT, I've made the conscious decision not to show images of my family and never to attend a VT gathering. I don't feel it would be fair to my wife and kids, since many people have seen more of me than she would approve. The exhibitionist in me who earned the 'Nekkid Man' title never dreamed I would develop such good friends online. The fact that we will never meet in person saddens me, but the thought that my wife might somehow be hurt by my openness with self-photos lets me know it is the right decision. Hopefully you can and do respect that.

To all my friends, I continue to love to hear about the big and small events that shape your days. Stories about your trips, jobs, dreams, relationships, purchases, family matters and hobbies make me appreciate the uniqueness of each and every one of you. Don't be shy about dropping me a short note or a long tale. I've got a good ear for listening and I seem to be ripe full of ideas and advice.

I'd be remiss if I didn't ask you to send me a photo to add to an album collection. Pick one or more themes you'd like to contribute to and send something in.

You can use VTmail or my v_minx0812@yahoo.com account.

It's harmless fun and you can remain anonymous or take full credit. Think about it. You won't be alone. Just check out how many others have already stepped forward to express themselves and share the beauty they bring to the world.

The incredible women of VT should be celebrated and with your help I'm just the guy to do it.

Wishing you all the best!

Time for deep thoughts

MY VIEWS AND PHILOSOPHY

Before you go further, I want to let you know that I am not your 'pure' facts-and-photos VTer. There are a number of fabulous contributors to this site that don't veer from the straight and narrow of only sharing travel info that others can use to learn about new locations and plan trips. I tip my hat to these people because they provide the backbone of this wonderful collection of tips and tidbits on destinations around the world.

In support of this effort, you will find plenty of images, info and comments from my own travels. The difference is, I don't stop there. I see VT as a community of people who share an interest in traveling.
The key to me is the PEOPLE part. As a member of this community, I like to chat with friends, express myself, and encourage people to develop new VT pages and to share their travel adventures. I focus on friendship, fun, motivating and advising, recognition of others, and building on the database of travel info.

Perhaps my priorities are not the same as yours, but that doesn't mean I'm not a fan or supporter of exploring the globe. I am who I am and I like myself the way I am. If you are not into silly, goofy and somewhat off-color play, then my site may not be what you are looking for. If you don't mind a bit of eye-raising humor and artistic expression, then proceed with caution.

I have a good number of true friends through this site. We have gotten to know each other well over the last few years. If you want to know what I'm like beyond these pages, feel free to write to one of my VT Friends and ask them. I'm sure they wouldn't mind sharing a few thoughts or comments with someone who is trying to figure out who this crazy guy is. Since I do push the limits in this Politically Correct world, I know that I have and will offend some VTers. My apologies to you, but you are now pre-warned. However, at the end of the day I think most people will find something they like about my pages. My hope is that in some way, your visit here has made your day a bit brighter and you feel a little happier than when you first clicked on my site.

A BIT OF BACKGROUND

In my earliest days of VT, I didn't have any pages of my own so I explored the fantastic world we live in through the pages of contributors who went before me. The images amazed me, the information was interesting, the people were real and their stories were true. Slowly I became hooked on the site and decided to build a few tips of my own. However, without a digital camera or scanner, my handful of tips and words alone drew little attention.

As I became more comfortable and familiar with some of the top 100 VTer's pages, I decided to write to a few people. I was curious to know what type of person thought so much of fellow travelers that they would share vast amounts of info from their own adventures in order to aid others. My probes began with questions about a specific destination or image. Amazingly, each response was unique and full of excitement that I had taken an interest in what they had shared. Soon I began to see that so many people were contributing, but they weren't hearing back from others in appreciation for their efforts. Then an idea came - use the Daily Birthday List to identify a diverse section of VTers, read their pages and write at least one comment to each person so they know how their pages impacted me. Thus, my role as 'The Birthday Greeter' was born.

For over a year I send comments and emails to over 3000 different VTers wishing them well on their birthday and admiring their contributions. In the early going, I stumbled across ddevito who had a stunning nude B&W image of herself as her portrait pic. She was posed so that you couldn't see anything improper, but she was clearly wearing nothing at all. That image inspired me to create my own image in a similar manner. And so, the 'Nekkid Guy' emerged into the VT world. With lots of visibility with my risque' portrait photo and the volume of birthday greetings, I began to get to know a large number of VTers. Yes, they were and are nearly all women.

I was a big tease and flirt with the ladies, but they didn't need much encouragement. They were rather enthusiastic to have a rogue in their midst and they nudged me into borrowing a video camera with digital photo ability to take some more risque' photos of myself. Of course, as a bit of an exhibitionist, I did and so the wildness continued to grow. Finally, a dear VT friend posted my imaginary nude masked birthday party on the VT Events calendar. Apparently my fame had grown too much and after a complaint, the powers-that-be politely demanded that I clean up my pages. Since then, these pages have been calmer, but I doubt they'd be called proper even now.

When a friend let me borrow his scanner, I was able to build some legitimate travel pages focusing on the places I'd been to - Germany, Greece, Italy and numerous sites in the U.S.A. My appreciation for all the other VT pages grew 10 fold once I found out how much work went into scanning images, organizing pages and writing out tips and comments. Not a job for the faint hearted. But these quality pages made me feel better about my place in the VT world and seemed to build support from even more visitors.

Seeing a lot without seeing anything at all
With the advent of a new, calmer me, I decided to redirect attention to those people who were visiting my pages and writing. I maintained a weekly album celebrating my friends, regular visitors, first time guests, and those who initially greeted me from each country. This recognition page helped to build even stronger relationships with a number of people. My minxy nature wasn't content with that, so I asked a number of ladies if they would share images that showed off their belly buttons. Thus, my disguised collection of bare bellies grew into seven albums worth of Naval Action. My appreciation of the female form found an outlet in requesting photos from VTers. Images of real VT ladies sharing their bellies, backs and more (or less) have found their way to me. Now I need to do my part to share those that I?ve been permitted to use with the greater VT community.

At the moment, I don't have the time to frequent VT as much as before. I try to check in regularly to catch emails and comments, but there is no time for building new pages. With a huge collection of unused material already in my possession, I'm hoping to refresh the look of my pages and clean out some old material. This is all a part of that effort.
