Djiguibambo Travel Guide: 13 reviews and 18 photos

The Dogon country is full of small villages all spread along Badiangara.
This villages haven't changed very much on the last years, it's like time doesn't pass there.
Small houses builded in mud, fetiches that take care of people's health, baobabs everywhere, the beauty of the simplicity is in the air.

Architecture / Arquitectura

Like almost always the most important components is mud

Toguna

It is a place, like a meter and a half tall, where the oldest men have meetings and discussions about the village matters. Why is it so small? For maintening people seat and avoiding having arguments, when they would want to fight while standing up they would hit its head with the roof.
The roof of the toguna is formed by 8 levels, one every year for the predecessorsm they put every year one of them, one in top of the other, and when there are 8 they take it off and start again..
