Sevilla...european city,but with arab art

by Alex_71 - last update: Jan 8, 2007

A good season for travelling

Well i arrived in Sevilla at the end of november.Usually here in Italy it's a very sad month,'couse it's ever raining and it's autumn.Well forget about it in sevilla. The temperature is great during the day..you can go around not very dressed, and stay really well.People says to not go in Sevilla during august 'couse it's hard to survive for the hot temperature but i think november is perfect for being here.Just sorry the "corrida" is closed.

Going around

I remained in Sevilla for 3 days.If you are a strong walking person they are enough for visiting the city(not if you want to visit all the little churches and museums).I went out early in the morning(about 8:30) and i returned back in hotel at 19:if you are able to make it(and i'm sure lots of them are)you can visit Sevilla in 3 days and enjoy it.The meeting point was at "la campana" that is the oldest bar and "brasserie" in Sevilla. The city is easy to walk and in the center area also during the night you have the sensation to feel ever safe.In the ancient sevilla, were i had my hotel,it's just full of little streets so you can feel not confortable but..take a look at the cams all around the corner and you'll feel totally confortable also walking in the night with no one around.
Anyway here (as in all the spain)is really friendly(but i didn't meet lots of "local" girls around) and it's easy to meet persons to talk with.Spanish persons are funny and great..i really like them!!

Why you have to go to Sevilla? Becouse..

Sevilla is an incredible mix of arts:here you can meet ancient christina art but also arabic style. This mix is also in the food, where you can taste arabic things in local restaurants.Don't forget to try tapas obiusvly.Going for "tapas" it's a must...it's called"tapear"(btw tapas are...well you should know..anyway..something to eat while you drink something,a sort of "aperitivo").You can find exotic places where drink the"vino fino"(but i didn't like it so much),and have fun time.People are...just great. You feel less the region here(it's not like beeing in catalonia)but you feel the spain.
The "giralda" or "plaza de espana" are amazing places to visit(in plaza de espana was played also star wars episode 2).If you like Dan Brown books just you'll remember "Crypto"(also known as"digital fortress") and it'll be funny to search for the places described in the book.
At the end i can say that sevilla is a great point to start to understand Andalucia, with the tradition of Flamengo, toros, art and food.Don't even thing to know the region after beeing in Sevilla but..it's a start..believe me you'll love this city
