I finally went to Wroclaw in June 2009 for the second time, about 20 years after my first visit. A lot of things have changed, of course, in the meantime. Wroclaw is in day-trip distance from my home town but the connections by public transport have been extremely poor in the past. In spring 2009 this has changed since Deutsche Bahn (at last!) resumed operating direct trains between Dresden and Wroclaw. I was curious and jumped on the chance to visit.
Overall I don't regret going there but in all honesty - it was sort of disappointing. Maybe my expectations were too high. More in the tips.

Me again, coming back for another look at your Wroclaw page. The opera house looks great, and the university sounds very interesting, especially the Aula Leopoldina.
nice very detailed page, actually interiors of Aula Leopoldina do look impressive.
It's open at 10:00 on Sundays during mass. And there's a museum under this little church which is open during the week but I don't know what time.
Nice photos of Breslau/Wroclaw, once the second largest city in Germany. I'll be next week in Lviv/Lemberg, one of many ghost towns in Mitteleuropa that exists no more. Would love to visit Frauenkirche one day!
Sooo, hab nochmal reingeschaut ;-))
Ingo, thanks for this page, I like a lot especially your pictures of beautiful Aula Leopoldina!
Great updates since my last visit. For me it looks like you kind of enjoyed your daytrip, although you just don't want to admit it. ;-) I like your Department Store Renoma tip. Unfortunately, I missed the free toilets as I haven't been in the building.
Good page. Ciao!
Neugierig auf deine Seite ;)
