Salzburg Tourist Traps: 65 reviews and 36 photos
Getreidegasse late afternoon in March
This narrow street (pedestrian zone) is the most crowded one in Salzburg. It seems every tourist who travels to Salzburg *must* stroll along this street. Sure, the townhouse where Mozart lived is to find there.
Even in March it was crowded. Hell, I almost got a panic attack when pushing through the hords of school classes and bus tourists. The shops along that street are perfect tourist traps. Overpriced, crappy stuff.
Unique Suggestions: If you're a Mozart fan try to get to his house on the shortest way. Leave immediately after visiting. Café Schatz in the neighbouring courtyard is a good alternative. (See my restaurant tip!)
