Garda is a relatively small village, located on the southeast shore of Lake Garda.

Its situation is wonderful: right where the scenery changes from mountains in the north to low hills in the south, on the widest part of the lake.

Garda itself has a nice (but small) old town, and extends with hotels and apartment comlexes far over the neighbouring hills.

It is quite touristy, in main season also crowded, but a good base to explore both the lake and surrounding cities (Verona!).

Ingo, lovely little page about Garda. I only came across Lake Garda once on the way to the first VT Euromeet in Vallegio sul Minico.
