Lest We Forget

I love to travel, it's my passion. Travelling is when I feel most alive. It awakens all the senses to the fullest. I love to learn about new cultures and places, eat new food, learn about music, art, and dance, visit historic sites, art galleries, museums. Take in the local life, at the club or pub, cafe, sporting event, parks, etc. Most of all I enjoy meeting new people and making the world my own global community :-)

My hometown is Ottawa, the capital city of Canada. It is a very beautiful city surrounded by 2 rivers and a canal through the city. Across the Ottawa River is Gatineau, our "sister" city. Gatineau is in the Province of Quebec. Ottawa lies right on the border between Ontario and Quebec. Queen Victoria of England chose Ottawa as Canada's capital. She decided on Ottawa as it was a little north of the US border, important for military/strategic reasons at the time, and it was on the border of Ontario and Quebec, thus encompassing both English and French, the two official languages of Canada. I hope to create my Ottawa page soon, but in the meantime if you have any questions on Ottawa or the rest of Canada I would be happy to reply.

My last trip was in early March to the states of Connecticut and Tennessee. My upcoming trip is likely back to the USA to Orlando, Florida with my brother, sister-in-law and my adorable niece and nephew. I haven't been to Florida since 1984 so I am looking forward to going again and visiting Mickey and Minnie! :-)
