Overton is a small town virtually in the middle of nowhere. Its not something one would pick as a tourist destination or even somewhere to stop and explore but for the history that lies within its tiny town limits and underneath nearby Lake Mead.
Overton contains the Lost City Museum and the ruins of the dwellings of the Anasazi Indians. Because of its close proximity to Valley of the Fire State Park, its possible to visit the two in one day. But, whatever the reason for being in the area, Overton is worth a visit to discover more about the civilization that once was. |
