The edge of history

by goingsolo - last update: Jun 19, 2005

Marietta is a small town less than 20 miles from Atlanta. The city pales in comparison to the sprawling metropolis to its east, but it is surrounded by places of historical significance. Marietta was the foreground for one of the major campaigns of the Civil War. General Sherman established a base here and the two armies fought some bitter wars just outside the town limits.

I didn't spend too much time here, but there are a few places of noteworthy interest, especially if you're a fan of historical sites.
