Living in Miami, which is less than 4 hours away, I've been to Orlando more times than I can count. I can remember the early years when the Magic Kingdom was the only park in town. I think I still have some of those tickets which were sold as ride coupons.
Although most of my present Orlando trips are for business, I've done the "tourist thing" in this town on a number of occasions as well. I've also spent a bit of time visiting friends who live in the area and seeing the non-Disney side of Orlando, a rapidly growing city that is definitely more than just the Mouse. |
| | I've been to each of these parks more times than I could possibly count. Living in Florida will do that to you. Although visiting the theme parks gets repetitive when you're a Fla resident, I still love going to the Magic Kingdom at Christmastime and seeing the huge tree at the corner of Main Street USA.
I'm slowly trying to build this page by digging out all those old photos and trying to remember the information that goes with it. So this is a real work in progress at this point. But, in the meantime, feel free to email me any questions you might have about the area or the theme parks or other Disney stuff. |

Gatorgirlie Mon Jan 14, 2008 19:53 UTC lol... Just imagine living here and trying to drive anywhere. You start to rethink going to the mall when your options are a) fight the congested roads for 45 minutes or b) pay $6 in tolls (round trip) and drive 20 minutes. | MandaJ320 Thu Jan 27, 2005 18:19 UTC thanks for the comment, my husband used to work at Disney World for his summers at college. he loved it! he was a jungle cruise skipper :-) take care! | DUNK67 Sun Oct 3, 2004 18:19 UTC some great, helpful tips | Michael_D Thu Sep 9, 2004 17:52 UTC At $3/day...$10/week the Orlando bus system(LYNX) is a great option once you learn the routes. The #51 express goes from downtown to Disney(25 minutes) and Sea World(10 minutes) for a buck! The busses are FULL of Brits and Germans on vacation!;-) |
