Interesting juxtaposition of the old & new these two tips Kristi. Spot on advice about outlet shopping too. We've done a fair bit of that at Gurnee (spelling?) Mills (nth of Chicago) & the ones near OshKosh WI.
So that's where I can find you doing shopping :-))) 45 min. to a store? Hmm... not the best :-) Interesting history of Barker Mansion - any ghosts there?
