"Cicero" Cicero by Dabs

Cicero Travel Guide: 3 reviews and 6 photos

Ask any Chicagoan about Cicero and the first thing that will probably come to mind is former town president Betty Loren Maltese, a colorful character who was sent to federal prison for misappropriating funds in the early 1990s. Long time Chicagoans or history buffs will also know that Cicero was where mobster Al Capone got his start before moving on to bigger things in Chicago.

What brought us to Cicero on this cold but sunny March day was, what else, a search for ethnic food. Cicero was at one time populated by Czechs, the heart of the city centering around Cermak Road. And a Czech restaurant on Cermak Road with ties to Al Capone is what brought us here.
