I was getting to the end of my last day of my week with dad in Los Angeles and I realized that I hadn't even seen the ocean yet! So I capped off a very nice day of touring by heading to Santa Monica to visit the Pier and catch a beautiful sunset.
The Santa Monica Pier is the most visited attraction in Santa Monica. If you go during the week, you'll not likely find that many people here but on my most recent visit in April 2008 on a blisteringly hot Sunday afternoon, the beach and the Pier were jam packed with people.
- Pros:Beautiful beach with path for walking/biking, nice shopping area
- Cons:Dining can be a little expensive
