Getting TO/AROUND: Several years ago we took the ferry over to Catalina Island for the day and it was a lovely day trip. Ferries to Catalina Island can be picked up in Long Beach, the trip takes an hour or so Catalina Express is docked near the Queen Mary Catalina Explorer looks like it docks near the aquarium

'Mode': AROUND
Category: Airplane
Getting TO/AROUND: If the boat ride to Catalina seems too long and you have some money to burn, another option is taking a helicopter. The helicopter appeared to leave from the same general area as the Queen Mary. Island Express Helicopter Service is the name of the company, the ride takes about 15 minutes.
