Warsaw

by Dabs - last update: Jul 6, 2003

Before we went on our recent trip to Warsaw I read many people's tips and suggestions and I was surprised to see lots of them saying to skip Warsaw all together.

Well, fortunately we didn't listen to any of them and enjoyed our 2 day visit.

I also saw many people saying that Warsaw is a dangerous city. Although I don't doubt that crime exists in Warsaw as with any other large city, I'm happy to report that our only encounter was that of a taxi overcharging us a few zloty. We took public buses and walked with no problem.

Warsaw looks great, Kristi..and what a bargain you got on the Sofitel! That more than compensates for the few Zlotych that the taxi drivers would have overcharged you! I'm hoping Wroclaw will be equally picturesque - my Polish friends assure me it is! :-)

Since our family is from Poland I had to take a peek at your Warsaw page--the town square is lovely, but the building Stalin had constructed is pretty bland! Good tip about the taxis....thanks, Kristi!

Didn't know that Warsaw has a mermaid icon. Interesting page, well written.

Kristi, lovely little page about a very interesting city. I was really impressed by Warsaw and its mixed architecture. Unfortunately, taxi drivers in Eastern Europe are always good for a tourist rip off.
