My trip to London started off with a bang with a bawdy bunch of South African babes plus a little testosterone to keep them in check! Jo (jo104) and I had arranged to visit Cambridge on my 1st full day in London but she alluded to a mystery guest or two. As we sat waiting at Victoria Station for "mystery guest #1", my imagination went wild. Did Jo secretly know Daniel Craig? Orlando Bloom? Maybe it's Prince Charles, errr, make that Prince William, yeah he's a little young but A LOT easier on the eyes!
Back to reality, mystery guest #1 turned out to be Donna (acifra) whom I had met in January 2006 at the big VT London meeting and off we go to King's Cross for mystery guests 2 and 3, Chris (balfor) who was in visiting from Atlanta at the same time and Joy (gioiacapetown) who was visiting from South Africa. I couldn't have asked for a more fun group of VTers, a big thank you to Jo for setting it up! PS Next time invite Daniel Craig |
| | Our party complete, we realized we could catch an earlier trip and scurried to get Chris' luggage to left luggage and hopped on the train with minutes to spare. Note to fellow passengers, you see a large group of women sitting on the train and want to sleep or read a book? MOVE! Unless, of course, you want to get sucked into a conversation about whether whipped cream should be sweetened or not... |
After alighting from the train, Jo raced us through Cambridge on a mission to find lunch and someone to take us out punting on the river. An unsuspecting soul nicknamed "Ghost" was the 1st to proposition us and he didn't know what he'd gotten into, Jo had done her research and negotiated the rate down to L8 per person and then we proceeded to get the punters to strip down to their Calvin Kleins so we could pick out our punter. OK, we didn't really get to pick out the punter, another unsuspecting 19 year old student was our guide, I think the bawdy babes made him blush one or two times... |
