I've been to San Juan twice now, both times to catch a cruise since San Juan is a popular place for cruise ships to start and finish. Our most recent trip we came in a day early just in case of weather related delays so we had a good part of two days to explore the city.

We happened to be there during one of San Juan's big festivals, the Festival of San Sebastien, which made the city extremely crowded and transportation a bit difficult and time consuming. When we returned to San Juan, the city was much more subdued and more enjoyable.
