We visited Reims, the largest city in Champagne, on a daytrip from Paris although many people visit the Champagne area and spend several days there sampling the wares from the many different champagne houses/cellars that you can visit. Another highlight is the magnificent Notre Dame cathedral where the kings of France were crowned. |
|  | I don't think we visited Reims at the best time of year, the town was rather quiet during the period between Christmas and New Year's, a lot of businesses seemed to be closed and there were not a lot of tourists wandering about. |

Those are impressive looking buildings you toured in Reims! Yes, December is the 'off-season' for tourism in Europe, but I've quite enjoyed our last two winter trips to England. If only I could swing France into the mix one of these times! |
