I'll admit I don't visit Windsor for its tourist attractions. Rather, I go to visit my family that now lives there. But being the traveller I am, I had to find what gems the city has hidden!
The strangest thing about Windsor is its relationship with Detroit. Like the motor city, much of Windsor culture revolves around the car industry. Its livelyhood is also dependant on American visitors - outlet malls, lots of restaurants and bars, and a flashy casino. Windsor seems very much like a Michigan suburb minus the crime and poverty.
Info on Windsor activities is close to nil, so I had to discover much of it on my own. Hopefully my tips will help you out if (god forbid) you get stuck there one day.
Honestly my favourite part of Windsor is the mild weather. As the southernmost city in Canada, the winters are almost without snow! A wonderful escape from the rest of Canada, I think. |

| Pros: | "Mild weather, Close to Detroit, Lively bar scene" | | Cons: | "Cultural void, Lack of activities, Have to drive everywhere" | | In A Nutshell: | "Typical Ontario town with the advantage of bordering Detroit." |
