Barcelona is wonderful. Placed in the Spanish Mediterranean coast is the capital of the Catalonian Region, one of the most importants in Spain and is well connected by air (El Prat's International Airport), by train, with Spain and the rest of Europe, by car, etc...
After the Olympic Games, in 1992, many people discovered rhis city and everybody who has been there always want to return ( and I know many people who has been there!). The people is nice, and the architecture is incredible with the main masterpieces of Gaudí. There are lots of museums and beaches and in general is a very modern city with a heavy personality, really different from Madrid (this two cities are always competing!). The food in BCN (Barcelone) is really good: i''s time to taste the Mediterranean diet: healthy and tasteful!. Just walk down the Ramblas or wherever in BCN to discover a different town from all the cities you've already visited.
