Uxmal is one of the more interesting of all the Mayan cities. Although it is not considered one of the more important cities like Chichen Itza, Palenque, or Tikal, it is just as beautiful and interesting as the “Great Mayan Cities”. Its Puuc style architecture and art make Uxmal one of the more decorative cities with intricately carved statues and masks. It shares some of the same influences as Chichen Itza with colonnades, serpent heads, and giant Chac masks with curved noses. |
| | I really like how the city structures are built on different levels giving the viewer various perspectives. |
| | The Governor's Palace is a great example of Puuc style architecture. It has Chac faces and intricately carved geometric carvings throughout. |
