Mana Pools is one of the wildest places in all of Africa. It is very difficult to get here without your own vehicle and there are no facilities within a three hour drive out of the park except bathrooms and showers.
This is the only park in all of Africa that has large game including preditors, where you can get out of your car and walk around without an armed ranger. There is a staggering amount of large game here including herds of buffalow, zebra, kudu, bushbuck, water buck and eland as well as plenty of elaphant and huge numbers of hippo and crocodile in all the pools and river. The bird life is also profuse. I couldn't believe how many owl I spotted in one park. |
