Bagan is one of the great ancient cities in South East Asia and was contemporary with the Khemers of Cambodia, Champas of Vietnam, and Saimese of Thailand. The archaeological zone is huge encompasing nearly 4000 structures in a 1.5 km radius.
If you are in Myanamar for any period you must come to Bagan. Please read my tips for more specific information.
