  • The main tourist attraction in Jordan!!

Petra's temples, tombs, theaters and other buildings are scattered over 400 square miles and are carved into rose-colored sandstone cliffs.

To enter the ancient city, you need to walk about a kilometer through a narrow gorge.

  • Wadi Rum, the famous desert. Its colorful valleys and towering sandstone mountains rising out of the sand make this area very popular to visitors.

Wadi Rum is also home to several Bedouin tribes who live in scattered camps throughout the area.

Wadi Rum is also known because of its connection with the British officer T.E. Lawrence, who was based here during the Great Arab Revolt of 1917-18. Much of the legendary film "Lawrence of Arabia" was filmed in Wadi Rum.

  • Actually it is a lake. It's called the Dead Sea because nothing lives in it. Its water is almost six times as salty as the sea.

The surface of the Dead Sea is about 400 m below sea level and the air temperature is higher than the other places around.

The Dead Sea has been known for centuries for its of exclusive spa benefits. On the jordanian shores there are a couple of spa resorts.

  • Mount Nebo is the place where Moses was laid to rest, and where Pope John Paul II tread on his first pilgrimage of the millennium.

Mount Nebo is one of the most important holy sites of Jordan. It is located 10 km west of the Roman Byzantine town of Madaba.

At the edge of the mountain one can see the Serpentine Cross (The Brazen Serpent Monument). It is a symbolic monument of the bronze serpent taken by Moses into the desert, and the cross upon which Jesus was crucified.

  • The Basilica is decorated with mosaic work. The design is centered on a grapevine, with a swastika motif running along the perimeter of the interior of the building.

Of this large composition, all that remains today are some geometric designs from the two lateral naves, a large section of the panels that adorned the intervals between the columns, and two fragments from the central nave.
