  • There are so many things to see and do here that you could take a two day pass and still not see everything. The polar bear pavillion was really interesting because you can view them above and below water level. The kids really liked it too.

  • Love the layout of Steve Irwin's Australian Zoo, which allows you to walk through many enclosures and get up close and personal with different animals. The kangaroo is always a favourite.

Things To Do: Take the whole day and visit 'Dreamworld'

  • Dreamworld by comparison to Seaworld, seems to have a more convenient layout. It seems to have a circular theme that minimizes the walking to each new area but maximises the use of available space. Hard to explain really but when at seaworld I seem to remember I was all walked out in a short space of time, while at dreamworld, each new area flowed into the next.

Of course it, Dreamworld, is full of "rides" and while I prepared myself to go on the paddle steamer, we weren't allowed on because we had just purchased snow cones and couldn't take them on board....ah well, maybe I will go again one day. Given my various problems with claustrophobia, fear of heights and inability to recognize accurate body temperature, I thought it wise not to jangle my body up with any of the other rides around. I felt as if I went on every ride that my grandchilren took though and I have heaps of photos of them having the time of their lives.
