Celebrating a birthday - Morocco
Celebrating a birthday

When moroccan girls celebrate a birthday, they dress in their nicest outfit and make up as stars even if they stay at home! That was the case at Amal's party as you can see!

Morrocan hospitality 1 - Morocco
Morrocan hospitality 1

We were arrived in Agadir, we had a wonderful first introduction night in the morrocan culture because we were invited for the "Ftour" (first meal after sunset the during Ramadan) at the house of friends of our friend Kamal (in Morocco , the expression the friends of my friends are my friends is a reality!). The hospitality of the girls (Fatimzara and Amal) were so great : it was like we were friends for years!!!! And then 7-8 girls joined us to celebrate the birthday of Amal ! Belly dancing music and moroccan birthday cake... unforgettable!

Kissing - Morocco
Kissing

To show their affection, Moroccans (guys and girls) kiss their friends on the cheeks one on one side and two on the other side!!!! The first time it can be surprising :-)

Culinary habits during the Ramadan - Morocco
Culinary habits during the Ramadan

During the Ramadam, the muslims don't eat from the sunrise to the sunset. The first meal in the evening is called the "ftour" : it is mainly composed with harira (soup),
"meloui"(crepes), chebakia (sesam and honey biscuits), eggs, etc.... sometimes it is just dates en milk. The second meal in the middle of the night is often a tajine (stew with meat en vegetables cooked very slowly in a earthenware cooking pot)

During the Ramadan, at the time of the "Ftour", you can be invited to drink the Harira soup with the people!
