Experiencing the middleage Carcassonne was the point of departure of my first discovery trip of the South-East of France. In fact, the proximity of the mountain range Pyrénées was a determining factor in my decision to travel till there! But I did not know that the region of Carcassonne was also so nice!
The first day, my friend and I visited the City (fortress) and the Bastide (lower town) of Carcassonne. Then, we rented a car to go to the French/Andorrian/Spanish Pyrénées :
