Tafi del Valle was my second destination on the Road Salta-Tucuman after Cafayate and Quilmes.

It is situated on the other side of the Calchaqui valley, in another valley...which is all the opposite of the aride landscape I just saw : soft hills, green land, humidity, cows, ranches, horses every where ...Like in a cow boy town!!!!

The town is known for being the holiday and weekend residence of the people of Tucuman suffering from the heat in their (polluated) town. It is a sport center with a lot of adventure and hiking possibilities on the mountains all around.

We found there a wonderful hostal situated in a historical ranch, Los Quartos, a palace! And I get the chance to see lamas from close!!!

That sounds like a great place to stay. We're going to Tafi tomorrow, it would be great if Los Quartos is still the same price.
