"Belgique - België" Belgium by ptitetoile

Belgium is a fabulous country with a rich and various history and culture. And a great part of this richness is for me due to the existing of different linguistic communities : French speaking, Dutch speaking and German speaking. Although there are some political tensions, I am convinced that being a Belgian is being aware that we all have something in common even if we are differents and speak another language...There is a link...we need eachother and with each national event, we can see that the only thing that we want is to party together! The relationship between Wallonie and Flandern is like a couple relationship: attraction and repulsion...In 2005, Begium celebrated its 175 anniversary and the 25 years-anniversary of Federalism...a big 'modern bal' was organised and the aim was to make people dancing the same choreography in 12 cities of Belgium (Antwerpen, Brussels, Charleroi, Dinant, Eupen, Ghent, Hasselt, La Roche, Leuven, Liège, Wavre, Ypres)...During one hour, choreographers teached the dance to all the Belgians in the cities but also in front of the TV (it was on air on the Belgian TV of both languages) It was a magic moment, the most wonderful party for Begium I ever participated in...So full of emotions, all united like a big family...So when I hear that Wallonia and Flandern will separate, I say NO WAY!!!! Belgians say to each other : "Je t'aime tu sais, Ik hou van u" (song from MONZA featuring Marie Daulne). This song is a wonderful synthesis of Belgium on a walz rhythm and I invite you to listen to it (http://www.monza.be/) and dance on it you can guess the choreography in the video!
