Bahia Principe (chain) just recently bought the Varadero Club Med. Not all tour companies even know this, and most will tell you that it's a new hotel. Wrong!
Now, the good news is - the Bahia is much cheaper than the Club Med used to be - so you are getting a deal, beacuse it is a very very nice resort:)) There.

***** just came back from it. Changed my tips from SATISFIED to VERY SATISFIED. Gorgeous place. For this price, you can't get better. It has it's own 1200 m private beach, and tons of sports activities.

The hotel is a nice 4 star property.
It is close to the beach and it offers hotel accommodation as well a bungalows.

The food is OK and although the selection is not too big, the variety is. The food changes choices change every night and include lobster, fish, pork, .....whatever.....

The hotel rates itself a 5 star, but it is definitely NOT A 5 STAR!!!!! If you want 5 star- stay at the Paradisus, LTI Varadero, Melia Las Americas.....
Alos, if you want 4+ star.....stay at the Tryp Peninsula, Melia Varadero, Sol Palmeras.... not here.

Tour operators and guides will tell you that this is a new resort. Well, it is new to Barcelo, but it is an older hotel.

Anyhow, we got it for a bargain on a last minute deal, so we didn't complain.

Unique Qualities: The hotel is a screaming yellow color!!!!!
At firas it kind of pokes your eyes because it stands out so much....but after a while you get used to it:)))

The Maritim Varadero is now in the top best resorts in Varadero.
The resort is a very nice 5 star resort and is most similar to the Tryp Peninsila (next door).

The bech may get a little riugh it the top of the penninsula, but this resort is worth it.
It is very good for families with kids and alos couples since it feels as but romantic.
The food is great and the service awesome!
