Floating Market: Floating Market
  • Tip Rating: [Not enough ratings yet]
  • The infamous market that many articles on Bangkok, cover with pictures of Thais selling their fresh produce on boats. The market is some 80 Kilometres outside of Bangkok. Everyday, hundreds of vendors boats crowd the market area early morning until around noon. You will be able to travel around in boat and see a little of what Thai village life is like. Although do remember that this is now a very famous excursion so it will not be your normal Thai village. It is best to get there early.

    Chatuchak Weekend Market: Chatuchak Market
  • Tip Rating:
  • The market (with some estimated 9,000/15,000 stalls) is only open at the weekends, Saturday and Sunday from 7am until late. Get there early by around 9am, if not earlier to enjoy a couple of reasonably quiet, and cooler hours.

Many of the stalls expect you to bargain (and you should always try) some stalls will not as they use a fixed price system. The majority though are on a negotiate basis and you should normally aim at around 50% of the first price offered.

Due to the layout of Chatuchak, if it rains heavily, a lot of the alleys will have rain up to and above your ankles. So leave your good shoes at home.

Directions: Simply take the Skytrain to the end terminal called Mo Chit which is exactly where the market is located. If you take MRTA (subway), get off at Kampangpet station.
