My brief week in the Antarctic Peninsula has been, to say the least, amazing. Although I do not consider myself a sentimental person, I have a hard time describing the phenomenal experiences from my greatest (and most comfortable!) adventure thus far.
The picture on the right is of me, reading the Lonley planet guide to Antarctica on the deck of our icebreaker Polar Star in the Drake Passage.
It's more than incredible how approachable (and approaching!) the wildlife is on the frozen continent. Curious whales and seals come up to the zodiac, just to check it out, and making eye contact with these creatures is a truly amazing experience. I also had numerous incredible encounters with penguines; Adeli`es, Gentoos and Chinstraps.

| Pros: | "Amazing, (seemingly) untouched nature, extremely few people" | | Cons: | "You can't stay there forever" | | In A Nutshell: | "Penguines, icebergs, glaciers, whales, seals, sun, snow and much, much more." |
