Chesterton, Indiana is located just a short distance south of the Indiana Dunes State Park/Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore. We're about 40 miles from Chicago and 45 miles from South Bend. Chesterton's population is around 12,000 and growing. Our little community has a history as an artist's colony--many talented artists make their home in these parts. Steel mills once supported the economy, but they are fading. Chesterton is a quaint little town offering specialty shops, lots of antiquing, and of course, fine art. The Lake Michigan beaches are our playground.
