<b>LIVING IS DARING</b>

I must make two of the principles of my trip very clear before I carry on this page: I would not read anything about the city before I got there and I would not follow any sort of tourist guide, therefore staying and being at the places by the will and charge of serendipity and luck. I do not regret the experience and I strongly recommend it.

I consider myself a lucky girl for having the enormous benefit of lacking sense of danger and responsability... Meaning I was 18 when I did this Big Europe Trip and even today many people tell me they'd never do what I've done, no matter how old they are. The fact is, fellows, my plan was to travel wherever I wanted whenever I wanted, no strings attached, and that's what I've done.

I met two brazilian girls in Florence who talked me down to a trip to the Czech Republic. As they were going to spend 5 days in Venice before doing so, we set up a date in Vienna. I expected nothing from that city. It would just really be a pitstop before getting to know the irrigated and cheap Prague.

To my surprise, when I took the train up to Austria I realized I might have given one wise step ahead on my exploring. Florence - Vienna, by train, passing by that astonishing autumn landscape...

And as I reached town, the people was very sweet and helping and willing to be kind, speaking to me in english or french since I speak no german at all. The streets are beautiful, the architecture is great and the country offers that atmosphere of silence and breeze which is ideal for appreciation...

No songs about Vienna? There's always "Vienna Calling" by Falco! What is Mu Shu Pork called in Oslo Chinese restaurants? "Ichi" is short for the name "Ichiro" in Japanese, but I like "Itchy". Let's call the Portuguese surfer "Scratchy"

I live in austria, so its really cool to read your austrian travelpage. vienna is wonderful, but if you plan to visit austria once more, you definitely have to visit innsbruck and salzburg, wonderful places too !!
