| Small street in Szentendre |
|
| | Szentendre is a small picturesque town 20 km north of Budapest. It is very easy to visit on a daytrip from Budapest and that's what I did. In Szentendre you will see houses in many different colours built in Baroque and Rococo style, and many church towers as there are many Catholic and Orthodox churches in the town. It is pleasant to walk around the narrow streets and now and then visit one of the many souvenir shops, cafes and restaurants, churches, art galleries and museums.
Many of the churches in Szentendre are Serbian Orthodox. That?s because many Serbs came to Hungary and Szentendre after the Ottomans had conquered the Balkans. |
