| | Bellagio is a picturesque small town situated on the tip between two branches of Lake Como. It is called the Pearl of the Lake because of its beauty and the town also has got a good climate. In winter it is about 6 - 7 °C and in summer about 25 - 30 °C. And there is sunshine about 200 days of the year.
In the 18th century the nobles built grand villas around Bellagio and already in the 19th century it became a holiday resort. Some of the villas have lovely gardens open to the public, but in February when I visited they were not open. I made a short visit in Bellagio from Como and walked around in the narrow allies with stairs, walked along the lake, visited the church and a couple of cafés. |
