South of Yerevan, close to the Turkish boarder and Arax river, the monastery Khor Virap rises over the flat plain,
with Mount Ararat’s impressive silhouette in the south.

Another interesting little page about your adventures in Armenia. Was this "car tour" an organised tour or how did you manage it? It seems to be quite difficult to get to these gems of the country by public transport, even more difficult than understanding the bus system in Uppsala. *winkygrin*

It is already 11 years ago since I was there. Too bad I didn't give so much information in the tips at that time. I had booked a tour with car and driver through an agency in Yerevan.

An interesting looking building located on a rather flat plain! I guess they had to do whatever was required to get a few converts some centuries ago!!
