"Silifke" Silifke by MalenaN
Silifke Travel Guide: 17 reviews and 24 photos
I decided to make a stop in Silifke as I didn't want to travel from Antakya to Anamur in one day. It is a nice place for a break.
Silifke is a small town with a population of 85 000 inhabitants. It is situated a bit inland from the coast and is spread out on both sides of Göksu River, below a hill with a fortress on the top.

The Temple of Jupiter looks interesting to visit, esp with the stork nest on top of the column. Good restaurant and accommodations tips.
Hello Malena! I was in Silifke last May and just like you I was the only one in both the archeological museum and Atatürk house. I believe the town is not well promoted. Cheers, Pinar
You had some spectacular views from high above after your little hike! I am always amazed to see relics from more than a thousand years ago still still surviving - such as Vespasian's bridge and the water cistern! Well done.
Thanks for droppin on my Balat page, Malena! There will always be something new to discover in Turkey, no matter how many times you've been there. It's an amazing country!
You do so well capturing the ambience of Silifke and the historic beauty of the place. So nice to be here when it was not crowded and you could really enjoy it. More lovely photographs.
