    • In Souq al-Hamidiyya (Old Town) there are a few ice-cream places serving delicious ice-cream rolled in pistachio nuts. I could eat several of them during one day. The price for one ice-cream is 25 SP (The price was the same in 2005 as it was in 2002).
    In 2005 the ice-creams at Bekdach was bigger and yummier than at the other place I tried.

    • Up the road from Al-Haramein Hotel and Al-Rabie Hotel (at the end of Bahsa Street) there is a Sudanese cafe serving breakfast for 50 SP (2002). You will get coffee or tea, two eggs and a big bread (a Sudanese or Syrian, fresh from the bakery across the street), jam and soft cheese.
