"Haghpat Monastery" Haghpat by MalenaN

Haghpat Travel Guide: 6 reviews and 30 photos

Outside Alaverdi, in northern Armenia, is the old monastery Haghpat. Together with Sanahin it is on UNESCOs World Heritage list. It is a complex of churches, a bell tower, a book depositary and a refectory built between the 10th and 13th centuries.
It is a beautiful place to explore.

You should really return to see more than the surroundings of Yerevan. There are so many nice places to visit.

Beautiful photos of the monastery and the surrounding countryside!! From them, and the description of your bus trip, this seems like a really out-of-the-way place!

Good tips on Ejmiatsin, Geghard and Haghpat.. Haghpat is a gorgeous place and one of my personal favorites!! If I were to revisit some of the monastaries in Armenia again, Haghpat will for sure make the list!!
