"Market in Zumbahua" Zumbagua by MalenaN
Zumbagua Travel Guide: 3 reviews and 58 photos
Zumbahua is a small town with a population of about 3000 inhabitants. It is situated high in the Andean mountains at an altitude of 3800 metres. Zumbahua is surrounded by mountains with patches of agricultural fields on the slopes. There is not much to do in the town, except visiting the traditional Saturday market.
Zumbahua is situated along the so called Quilotoa Loop. From the road above the town there are quite frequent buses passing by to and from Latacunga. If you are going to Quilotoa and there is no bus you should be able to find a pick-up truck to share with other people.

I'm jealous! I love this kind of market where it is mainly locals and their produce. It doesn't look like a place frequented by many tourists? I really enjoyed your travelogue photos, thanks!
It was a colourful and interesting market to visit. And I only saw a few more tourists.
Interesting animal market.
Very colourful! I especially like the photos with the yellow church in the background - very effective :-)
The market sure is an interesting site and very colorful. Were the people there friendly?
Fascinating photos in your tips and travelogues! Was that a loudspeaker truck I saw in one of the pictures?
Oh, I like the way it sounds...Zumbahua! I wonder why VT calls it Zumbagua? Not only is the market there very colorful, your photos are as well. They make me feel as if I'm right there, buying a llama or two ;-)
Great!
What a colourful market!
